Little did we know it was going to be this perfect. We were in for a treat: A 17-course meal that went straight for 3 hours, excluding the 90-minute drive from our crib to the place!!!
The theme for November 2016 through May 2017 is a grocery shopping list, one of the things I’m most familiar with now since we got married. There was a coin purse and the shopping list in it, which listed the complete course menu. The list was written informally on a page that looked like it was torn off a lady’s planner. Very un-intimidating for a 5-star restaurant.
When it comes to giving to the ones you love, I’ve always loved giving gifts that cannot be purchased elsewhere. It sends them a blunt and tangible message that they’re special in my eyes. You can’t compare anything else in the market with a custom-made product, can you?
But the older I get, the more I realize that the best gift doesn’t necessarily subsist in a well-thought-out by-product, or even that unique, one-of-a-kind element of the gift itself. The best you can give to someone is believing in the person. It’s the most powerful force ever IMO, to just be there, look into their eyes and say, “I believe in you.” (especially if the person himself/herself does not, much less anyone else in the world)
There are literally countless presents hubs have gotten me that I consider priceless over the course of our relationship. I feel special not because the presents themselves are unique (they’re all store-bought), but because I can glorify His name and give back honor to my husband through those presents. I took the guitar he gave me on stage to surprise him on our wedding day. Heck, this whole blog exists because he keeps giving me nice cameras.
Above everything though, it was his faith in the best of me that was the most precious gift of all. Him looking right through me as if saying, “I see you” whenever I’m being unlovable, him listening to me as if whispering, “I feel you” whenever I reveal my emotions. It’s also this trust that’s made me confident in saying “Yes” the day he proposed. His faithfulness in me is just like Christ. How could I not say “Yes”?
Having brought me into his faith, I believe there’s a special place in heaven waiting for him at the end of this life.

If you haven’t already know, 10 and I had 2 wedding receptions to celebrate our marriage. The one we wanted was a smaller and much more intimate setting in Bali, whereas the other one was what our parents originally envisioned their children’s wedding day to be. Having gone through the once-in-a-lifetime experience twice made […]
Today, I’d like to showcase one of the many vendors I’m eternally grateful for for our beautiful celebration. The name’s Daddy Tjeuw, a Jakarta-based wedding and pre-wedding photographer who’s excellent at doing what he does. It’s rare to find local photographers who master the art of using natural light to their full advantage, so we were blessed the day we discovered Daddy during our search for the perfect pre-wedding photoshoot. Without further ado, here’s one of the many series hubs and I totally loved:
