Remember the early days of Britney? Yeap, she was all white in a skin-tight crop. We’ve all probably noticed a number of A-list celebrities donning the midriff-revealing item these days, whether they’re down the street or the red carpet. It was predominant in the ’80s and ’90s, thanks to Madonna, who started it all. Gwen […]
“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.” (Sam Levenson)
The nude eye palette has been the centerpiece of my dressing table ever since the day I put on my very first makeup. For my 14th birthday, my best friend got me Benefit’s Big Beautiful Eyes (USD 32.00), which, at that time, I have not the slightest clue on how to apply an […]
About 2 months ago, I was in need of a clay mask to replace Dr. Jart+’s PORE MEDIC Re-Tighten Mask, which turned out great for overall oil control, but didn’t quite work out for the poreless look I was hoping to get.
So I gave Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque (IDR 330,000) a try, and have now been using it 1-3 times a week.
Based on its official product description alone (“a cleansing masque that helps to purify skin and visibly minimize pores”), let’s just say that it’s doing its job really well.
It’s close to the end of January. So far I’ve been making progress in dropping a couple of bad habits off my beauty regime (not sleeping enough; washing my hair everyday). To that, I feel like I’m needing a little more oomph in the skincare department.
There are a number of ritzy skincare products that have grabbed my attention for a while. All this time, I haven’t been feeling as assured as I need to be to bank on them. Partly it’s the premium price tags that knocks the heck out of me, but mainly it’s because of the tremendous too-good-to-be-true results each of these products promises to deliver, at least as I see them on the media.
Around four or five months ago I was looking for a paraben-free exfoliator to replace my previous drugstore find. I mean, I know I said I’m not going to go completely gaga over parabens and suddenly forgo everything that contains the much-tabooed ingredient in the cosmetics industry, but it’s best to protect ourselves when we know we can, right?
So I went to one of my favorite stores and give L’Occitane’s Immortelle line a try to handle my pore problems. I’ve been an avid user of their fragrances for years that it only seems natural for me to peek at their skincare products. After all, I’ve been enjoying the eye balm for almost a year now. The new one on the pictures was a repeat buy.
