3 latest splurges: Another round of beauty buys

Eye Cream – Turkish Rose and White Tea by Pangea Organics (USD 55.00) I’ve been using this eye cream for about 3 weeks now. I noticed a change in my eye bags, or, should I say, I don’t have anymore eye bags? This product is made completely out of all-natural ingredients, meaning no chemicals involved. The only reason I purchased this product was that my mother tells me it’s time to start using eye creams. It’s important to start taking care of our skin as early as we can before the skin starts sagging later on. As our skin naturally age, so does our eyes, and the skin around the eye area are the most noticeable part of your body that shows signs of aging because of how delicate they are. So I decided to choose Pangea Organics for my first eye cream, and it’s been doing wonders for me. Really, it’s a combination of applying this cream every night and getting enough sleep everyday. If you read the ingredients list below, this product contains panax ginseng extracts. Ginseng does a wonderful job to awaken the skin cells and to stimulate the skin’s metabolism when applied topically. It helps to reduce the under-eye puffiness too when you take ginseng orally or drinking ginseng tea everyday. I personally never liked the taste of it, but recently my mother bought me packets of ginseng teas with honey extracts in them. It’s sweet and energizing, so it’s easier for me to handle the pungent smell. It’s an anti-aging weapon after all, so I think it’s worth going through the bitterness of ginseng at every gulp.

Vitamin A Glycolic Facial Scrub by Derma E (USD 12.75) Every time I rinse the scrub off my face, my skin feels soft and gentle. The scrub itself wasn’t as rough as exfoliators from other brands I’ve used before. The beads are not abrasive when I massage this scrub onto my skin. I also notice an improved skins surface after using this product, so it’s now more even and smooth without my whiteheads popping all over the place. Other than that, my only regret is that it does nothing to my red spots and acne scars. I was hoping it would diminish the redness of my skin and I’ll get a better overall skin tone out of the Vitamin A derivative in it.

Moonshadow Baked Palette – In The Nude by SEPHORA Collection (USD 50.00) As a newly-appointed V.I.B. (Very Important Beauty-insider), I took advantage of the 10% discount to get this gorgeous eye palette. Generally, I replace my eyeshadow palettes more or less every 3 months. It’s time for me to use a new one, and this is just the perfect color palette for me. I personally recommend this palette for everyone because it makes all eye colors pop with its sparkly touch. If you have brown or hazel eyes, the taupe and plum shades are perfect. They work for green eyes too, but you can dap a light bronze or a soft peach on top of the dark shades, and the greenness of your eyes will shine. Not to mention the cream and gold shades for blue eyes, they might as well be bluer than blue against those dusty browns and oranges (I know because I recently bought blue colored contact lenses!). The best part for me? It has the color silver too, which I can layer to any other colors I’m using for a touch of glamour to my finish. This palette is perfect for everyday casual look but also sultry for special occasions too. Definitely my new favorite all-in-one eye palette.
